Notes for Vienna!Other
Music is one of my major passions! BUT I NEED YOUR HELP, PLEASE, TO REALISE MY DREAM I am delighted to have achieved a notable milestone recently, in that I was selected as a chorister for the prestigious KZN Youth Choir. This Multi-Award-Winning Choir is the oldest Youth Choir in South Africa comprising 80 choristers between the ages of 14 and 24. Out of hundreds of hopeful, talented singers’ auditions, only a handful are selected to become members of the choir. I am so excited about this because it represents the culmination of my dedication and hard work over the past several years. This started in junior school and in Senior Primary I was lucky enough to begin my vocal training with a professional voice coach in that field. At the end of Grade 7 I was honoured to be awarded the Golden Microphone award for my solo performances during my senior primary years. Now I am 16 years old, and a Grade 10 pupil at Thomas More College in Kloof KZN. I have been so blessed to be under the guidance of 2 brilliant singers in their own right, and at school I am an active member of the choir as well as an acapella group called Retro Beats. I have had the opportunity to perform many solo pieces at school as well as at other shows. Now that I am a part of a choir that represents 38 schools in my Province, of which I am the only one to represent my school, I want to take advantage of every single opportunity I am given. The KZN Youth Choir has been personally invited to participate in a Music Festival in Vienna, Austria, in June 2019. While my parents are happy to sponsor part of this trip, I realise that I need to take responsibility for a large part of the R45 000 required for this trip. I am creating this “Go Fund Me” page in the hope that I will be able to reach my dream of participating and doing what I love most - SINGING with this incredible choir in one of the most amazing cities in the world. Your generosity and assistance with sponsorship can make it possible! Thank you.
