Help get Shan to Synchro World ChampsCrowdfunding
As many of you know, I have been doing synchronised (artistic) swimming for 15 years and it is one of my greatest passions. Since the days of back tuck somersaults and hearing aids, way back in 2005, I have dreamed of being able to swim at the highest level with the best athletes the world has to offer. After many years of hard work, long car trips and unbelievable support from my parents, family and friends, I have finally reached the climax of my synchro career. I have been selected to be part of the South African Senior Team to attend World Championships in Gwangju, South Korea in July.
My team will travel to Budapest for the Hungarian Open and then to Šamorín, Slovakia and finally make our way to Gwangju, South Korea for World Champs. This is an amazing, once in a life time opportunity but it comes at a large cost. Each member of our team needs to come up with approximately R37000 in order to cover the costs of our trip, and this is on top of the many thousands of Rands we have spent on competitions, training camps, kit and coaching fees, just to get to this point.
Having just recently started my first job as a community service speech therapist, I am struggling to come up with the necessary funds to cover my trip. I know everyone has their own burdens and living costs but I am hoping that some of you may have even the smallest amount to help me make my lifelong dream come true.
Please help me get to World Championships by donating what you can. What may seem menial to you means the world to me. No donation is too small, every cent gets me one step closer to going on this amazing trip!
