Corolla (the daughter of a Domestic Worker) has severe Cerebral Palsy. She is reliant on a wheelchair for mobility, can hardly hold herself up in sitting, has very limited hand function and is not able to speak, and yet she is able to understand both English and isiZulu. She has never attended a school and because her mother has to work she has not been able to get to Government hospitals for therapy.
I am appealing to you for funds to send Corolla to Whizzkidz Special Needs Centre, three days a week, for 1 year, so that she will not have to go with her mother to work. Unfortunately, because she is so severely disabled, she will also need a facilitator (1/2 day) to assist her whilst she is at school. The advantage of sending her to WKSNC is she will be involved in an Individual Education Programme (IEDP), receive therapies at school and also be taught Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
